In Smederevo, Serbia,  a new social-activist center started its life at the beginning of February called, the City Development House (abbreviated – GRAD). Association Pro.Tok21, whose initiative for the past few years - Red Badges - has successfully animated her community around the topic

of air pollution, concretized its aspirations in this city by establishing physical space for gathering active citizens, informal groups, associations, and from the town and region. At the very end of all the preparatory works, another one has held an event in the center at the end of April.

On April 29, the doors of the GRAD were opened to representatives of various groups and organizations from the city itself and associates, colleagues, and partners from different organizations in the country. As it was said in a short official part, the wish of the hosts was to thank everyone, donors, partners, and associates who selflessly supported the work for three years of organizations Pro.Tok21 and who contributed to the achievement through donations and knowledge transfer of this critical goal. This place that will be the backbone of activism in Smederevo and the region is an essential foundation for civil society's further growth and development in this part of the country and in itself organizations Pro.Tok21.

Several donors participated in the founding of the GRAD, and significant support in furnishing the space was provided by The Response Hub program, implemented by the European Fund for the Balkans.

The community-activist center GRAD begins its work with the realization of the program whose they are holders of associations, groups, and individuals from Smederevo and visitors from other cities.

The position of the home on the promenade along the Danube, next to a large yard, combined with the take-off energy of Smederevo activists, announces interesting civic and activist programs during the summer of 2022.

The GRAD is always open and awaits all those interested in cooperation.
