Lozovo Women's Organization with the help of the grant received from the EFB managed with its activities to reach more problems of women from rural areas and some of them to be solved.

  1. Through this Project, the problems that lead to discrimination of rural women were mapped from the conducted Anonymous Survey.
  2. From the Educational Interactive Workshop, rural women were educated, organized and networked. They got to know themselves, developed self-awareness, were encouraged. They realized that they have equal rights with men but do not have equal opportunities.
  3. The Debate reached the way, ie the solution for the discrimination of rural women, raised the awareness of women from rural areas that they themselves should fight against the imposed discrimination and local authorities and other responsible, incumbents to participate in the resolution of this problem. Women will not stop on the way to their goal even under the condition of radical mechanisms.
  4. After the completion of all activities, a publication was published in which everything that has been done is briefly presented. Photos from the direct events are also shown. With the promotion of the Publication, the whole public was introduced to the Project for Stopping Discrimination against Rural Women in the Municipality of Lozovo.

Several interviews were conducted during the work, which were published in the Publication. We were most impressed by the interview with Dr. Nadica Stojkova, gynecologist obstetrician from St. Nikole, which we want to find on the pages of the Platform.

Marika Monevska,

Women's organization Lozovo

                                                                                                                              INTERVIEW

with Dr. Nadica Stojkova, gynecologist obstetrician, St. Nikole

Smiling as always, she greeted us in her office. We started a spontaneous conversation.

- Doctor, why did you choose this profession?

- I just love her. I love her because every day I bring a new life to the world, a new newborn. When I help a pregnant woman give birth, I feel proud, happy and fulfilled.

- We are not interested, women from the rural area, specifically the rural women from Lozovo, how often do they come for a gynecological examination?

- Unfortunately very rarely. Most of them never came after giving birth. They come when it is already too late, when the disease has progressed. I have had several cases of end-stage uterine cancer. Surgery had to be done urgently.

- Is this because in the Municipality of Lozovo, there is no gynecologist obstetrician and rural women are territorially far from the cities where there are gynecological surgeries.

- Yes, that is the biggest problem, but rural women should be persistent and understand that gynecological examinations are very important for their health.

- Would you like to come to the clinic in Lozovo at least twice a week and see mostly rural women?

- Of course, I would come. There is also a gynecological chair - donation, I do not need much to make a work corner.

- Thank you, you did not encourage us to continue the demands for solving the problems of rural women.
